What you need to make homemade pop tarts.
- Almond Flour- used to make the crust. 2 cups
- Erythritol, You can use the sugar alternative of your choice. 2 tsp/li>
- Cold butter. Cut the butter into smaller pieces. 2 tbsp
- Egg. Two eggs are used in this recipe. One is used for the crust and the other for the wash. The one used for the wash should be beaten with a teaspoon of water.

- Sugar Free Powdered Sugar. This is used for the glaze.
- Milk. A small amount is used for the glaze.
How to make homemade Pop Tarts
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Servings: 4
- Start by making the pie crust (you can skip this and use a refrigerated crust or the recipe of your choice.) In a food processor, combine together the almond flour, erythritol, cold butter and the egg. Pulse the ingredients until it can form a ball. This should take a few minutes however, if the ingredients are too dry you can add a teaspoon of water.
- When your crust is done, place it into the refrigerator to chill for ten minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375 and prep a rimmed baking sheet for nonstick. I like parchment paper.
- Use a nonstick mat, wax or parchment paper, or lightly floured surface to roll out your dough to about ยผโ thick.
- Next, use a knife or pizza cutter to cut crust into rectangles that are approximately 2โ by 3โ.
- Now, fill half of the rectangles that you just cut out with three tablespoons of the jam. Then, place another rectangle on top and use a fork to crimp the edges in order to seal them .
- Now, use a pastry brush to apply the egg wash (beaten egg with a teaspoon of water) to the tops of the tarts.
- Bake your pop tarts for 15-18 minutes, or until the pies are golden brown around the edges.
How to make sugar free glaze.
- For the glaze (you can omit this) whisk together the sugar free powdered sugar with the milk (making adjustments as needed) until you get a good consistency. Then apply the glaze on to the tops of the cooled tarts.
Tips for making the best copycat pop tarts.
This recipe included a simple keto and sugar free diet friendly crust recipe. You cold however use a refrigerated pie crust or the crust recipe your choice to make this recipe.

- When you roll out the dough, it is a good idea to place a piece of parchment paper over the dough. This will help prevent the dough from sticking to the rolling pin.
- This recipe uses almond flour to make the crust. Make sure that you are using almond flour and not almond meal for best results.
- If you roll out your dough and make the tarts on parchment paper, you can use the parchment paper to easily transfer the tarts to the baking sheet.

How to store pop tarts.
