Yes, there will be some carbohydrates in your pie as peaches do come with some carbs. However, there are ways to keep the rest of the added carbohydrates to a minimum.
Make sure that you are using a crust that is low in carbs or has no carbs. Also, use sugar alternative(s) instead of sugar(s) where indicated in this recipe.
Here are some tips for making peach pie.
If you are using a homemade pie crust recipe it is a good idea to first blind bake the crust. Simply place a pie weight or dry beans on top of parchment paper that is placed over the crust and bake for about ten to 15 minutes at 350.
More helpful tips for you.
- Prepare the peaches by washing them and removing any bruises, stems, and pits. The skin can stay on if desired.
- Canned peaches (with no added sugar) can also be used. However, you must first drain the peaches before adding them.
- The best peaches for this recipe are the ones that are most ripe. Peaches are like bananas in that you can simply place them in a paper back to ripen faster.
How to store leftover pie.
Certainly, this pie is best when it is fresh out of the oven. Having said that, leftovers can be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator for a few days before turning brown.
