This is because it serves several purposes when used to bake with.
Cream cheese is a a soft-fat ingredients which helps to keep baked goods both dense and moist. Also, cream cheese adds to the flavor to what it has been added to.
It is best to use a full-fat cream cheese in order to get the full benefits with moisture. Also, use a cream cheese bar rather than a tub cream that has had aerated and in a tub.
For best results, the cream cheese should be allowed to softened to room temperature. This will help the cream cheese blend with the other ingredients.

How to make Sugar Free Low Carb Cream Cheese Cookies
Yields 26 cookies
Preparation Time active time 20 minutes | baking time 16 minutes
- Preheat your oven to 325 and prepare two baking sheets for nonstick. I like to use parchment paper for a recipe such as this one.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the almond flour, coconut flour, and baking powder.
- Next, in a mixing bowl, beat together the sugar alternative with the cream cheese until creamy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the mixing bowl and mix until combined.
- Now, use a rubber spatula to fold in the dry ingredients from the first bowl to the mixing bowl. Mix this until just combined.
- Use a medium sized cookie scoop to first scoop out the dough and then roll the dough into balls between your palms. Place the dough balls on to the baking sheet about two inches apart. Then slightly flatten the cookies with the palm of your hands.
- Bake the cookies until the edges begin to turn golden brown (about 14-16 minutes).
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring them.
Expert Tip 👉 Refrigerate the cookie dough before forming your cookies. This will make it easier to form the cookies as well as help the cookies keep their shape in the oven.
