Low Carb Pizza Dip is a great idea for an appetizer.
The good news is that you dip what ever you want into it!
Low Carb Pizza Dip
This is actually a 'genius' idea for anyone who is following a low carb lifestyle.
This recipes shows us that you can indeed eat a pizza without the bread. The bread, or crust, is where the bulk of carbohydrates come from in a pizza. As a on again off again low carb person, I can tell you that the carb-filled crust is now always a good thing.
What exactly would you dip into this anyway?
A low carb pizza dip gives us so many options for what to dip.
If you want to be a good low carb person you could go with something like a sliced mushroom (net .4) or sliced cucumber (about 1 net carb per cucumber). However, as a low carb person you could also go with protein such as sliced pepperoni, cheese, or even chicken.
This recipe is kind of like making a pizza without the crust.
Of course, we are modifying our recipe to be carb-friendly. And because it is such a yummy tasting dip, we can share it with our friends and family (think tailgates, parties, potlucks, or TV binges..).
As you may already know, pizza sauce comes with some carbs in it.
The carbs in the sauce usually come from sugar that has been added to the sauce. However, there are pizza sauces that have no sugar added and you can find them online. Other options are no sugar added crushed tomatoes or diced tomatoes.

The recipe for Low Carb Pizza Dip
Make this as low carb as you would like to by using low carb or no carb ingredients.
See above for sauce options.
What you will need to make Low Carb Pizza Dip
- Cream Cheese- 1 8 ounce package softened to room temperature. Can use low fat versions of cream cheese, ricotta cheese, or I've even experimented with Queso cheese. I love options!
- Mozzarella Cheese, shredded or grated- 1 cup..
- Low Carb Sauce- 1 cup. Regular pizza sauce or the low carb options listed above.
- Optional- ¼ cup of cooked meat such as pepperoni, ¼ cup of vegetables such as onions, and/or sliced olives to taste.
- Italian Seasonings- 1 tablespoon total. Can use a blend or one. Parsley, oregano, basil, black pepper, etc.
- Grated Italian Cheese 1 cup- I like to use a blend of Parmesan, Asiago and Parmigiano Reggiano. However, you can just use Parmesan if you would prefer.
How to make Low Carb Pizza Dip
We will be using a microwave-safe plate to make this. A pie plate or similar size is fine.
- I like to start by spraying nonstick on the plate before I make something like this. Whatever seems to make things easier to clean up makes me happy.
- In a medium bowl, blend together the cream cheese and mozzarella cheese.
- Evenly distribute the blended cheeses into the pie plate. Then layer the sauce over this.
- If adding the optional meats etc, add them over the sauce layer. Then add the seasonings over this.
- Evenly spread the remaining Italian cheese over the dip.
- Microwave for two minutes then rotate the dish and microwave for another two minutes. Remove the dip from the microwave and allow this to sit for a minute or so before serving.

Sugar Free Diva
Hi. I like veggies such as large mushrooms. Or you could make a low carb cheese straw or you could make a low carb pizza crust and slice it into strips for dipping. Thanks!
