Okay, so if they are called “Buttermilk Biscuits” then how can they be made without the buttermilk?
Well, not everyone has buttermilk on hand. Not everyone wants buttermilk on hand.
I am one of those people who always has Greek Yogurt in the fridge.
I love my Greek Yogurt. I eat Greek Yogurt for breakfast. I use it in my recipes.
Buttermilk is just something that I don’t even think I have even ever purchased.
My mother never used buttermilk and never had it around while I was growing up. To be honest, I never liked milk as a kid and my mother had to search for other ways for me to get my calcium.
Buttermilk Biscuits Without the Buttermilk
Biscuits are often the one food that a family can pop into the oven and enjoy on a weekend morning together as a family.
We butter our biscuits. We put jam on our biscuits. I’ve even put chocolate chips in my biscuits (I’ll share those soon as I am now thinking about chocolate chip biscuits and will have to make them soon.)
